Welcome to VISHWA, developed and operated by VMAP Education (Since 1999). We are committed to protecting the privacy of students and parents who use our app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.

By using the VISHWA app, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Mobile Number: Used for OTP-based login and account identification.
• Full Name: Provided during registration to personalize your experience.
• State of Residence: Used to show relevant college and counselling information.
• NEET Score (optional): Entered voluntarily for AIR (All India Rank) prediction.
• Device Information: Basic device data (OS version, device type) for app performance and bug reporting.
• Usage Data: Features you use within the app (e.g., college search, predictor usage) to improve our service.
• Bookmarked Colleges: Stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account via mobile OTP authentication.
• To provide personalized NEET counselling information, college suggestions, and AIR predictions.
• To show you relevant government/private/deemed college lists based on your state and score.
• To send important notifications regarding NEET counselling updates (if opted in).
• To improve app features and fix bugs based on usage analytics.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

4. OTP Authentication

We use MSG91 (a third-party SMS service) to send OTPs to your mobile number for secure login. Your mobile number is shared with MSG91 solely for this purpose. MSG91's privacy policy applies to their handling of your data. We do not store your OTP — it is a one-time code that expires immediately after use.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored on secure servers hosted on DigitalOcean (India region where available).
• We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit.
• Passwords are not stored — we use OTP-based authentication only.
• Access to user data is restricted to authorized VMAP Education personnel only.
• Bookmarks and preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as you maintain an active account with us. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Usage analytics data (non-personally identifiable) may be retained for up to 12 months for service improvement purposes.

7. Third-Party Services

The VISHWA app integrates with the following third-party services:

• MSG91: OTP delivery service. Privacy Policy →
• Google Play Services: App distribution and updates.
• MongoDB Atlas / DigitalOcean: Secure cloud database hosting.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.

8. Children's Privacy

VISHWA is designed for students preparing for NEET (typically aged 16 and above). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us their information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information via the Profile section in the app.
• Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us.
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting the app.
• Data portability — request a copy of your data in a common format.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
